LAYANG-LAYANG

In indonesian language, layang-layang means kite. Kites in Indonesia are part of the cultural heritage, but they have also a deep spiritual meaning. They are a connection between human being, earth and the Gods. They whisper in the ears of the Gods for reminding them hopes and desires of the humans: a healing from an illness, a wishing a good harvest of rice and many more. This "Layangan" collection is my personal wish for the season ahead, in which, as every spring summer season, I place an expectation of a rebirth on myself, of the nature and of the world as a comunity.
